Coconut oil/coconut fat is rich in saturated fats, a high percentage of which are medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs). The high saturated fat content makes coconut oil very suitable for baking at low and higher temperatures (including wokking). Coconut oil/coconut fat consists of approximately 64% off MCTs: C8 - 6%, C10 - 9%, C12 - 50% (C is the notation for how many carbon atoms fatty acids contain). MCTs are more water-soluble due to their short length and more easily absorbed by the body. Additionally, C8 and C10 are preferentially converted into ketones by the liver, instead of being stored as fats. Because of the high saturated fat and MCT content, coconut oil/coconut fat fits perfectly into a Bulletproof or ketogenic diet.
Tavarlin coconut oil/coconut fat is made with freshly-harvested, organic coconuts from the Philippines. Freshly-grated coconut is dried, cold-pressed (virgin) and packaged under hygienic conditions. Because Tavarlin coconut oil/coconut fat is not chemically processed, heated, bleached or deodorised, it will contain the highest amount of nutrients and the least amount of contaminated or damaged compounds. Coconut oil/coconut fat can be used for frying and baking, or as addition to beverages (like Bulletproof coffee) and smoothies. Tavarlin coconut oil/coconut fat is solid (fat) at room temperature and melts (oil) at temperatures higher than 25 °C.
